Sierra — macos could not be installed on your computer.

I get this error each time it loads.

I would like to bypass the install process completely. I suspect that I have not enough space, and that this is the reason that he keeps failing. I do not want to start a new install because I have some software that I cannot replace. Can someone show me how to get out of this loop that I am stuck in please? I need to find a way to unload this install image.

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Does your MBP meet the system requirements.

Apple's guidance lists the following Mac models as compatible devices:

MacBook (Late 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
iMac (Late 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)

If it's already downloaded, trash the installer from your Applications folder. You should also check your App Store preferences to uncheck any option to automatically download and/or install software updates.
